Full Description

The HST series of standards applies to the performance of overhead hoists, in particular, air and electric, wire rope and chain hoists, and hand chain and manually lever operated chain hoists. This Standard has the general purpose of aiding the hoist user in obtaining, using, and maintaining a hoist, and providing a uniform basis for evaluating performance. The Standard will include, where applicable, terminology, hoist and trolley service classifications, mechanical and electrical data, installation information, test requirements, maintenance requirements, and typical format for inquiry data.
